3. Kunde Festival: The tribal people of the Coorg district celebrate this festival in May. The tribal communities in Thithimathi, Devarapura, and the surrounding areas gather together and hurl abuse at the gods. The ancient story goes that Lord Aiyappa took the tribes hunting in the forest but abandoned them when he saw the Goddess Bhadrakali and fell in love with her. 5. Koovagam – A gathering of the transgender community: It is a 15-day-long festival held in April-May in Tamil Nadu’s Villupuram district. The transgender community gathers before Koothandavar Temple and marries the God Frett Board.
